Entrepreneurial Moment – Bill Hornbeck:  Price vs Value

We want to eliminate price as a buying consideration.  Here is an important anecdote to remind us of how to do that:  A man pulls into a service station because his car is smoking and stalling.  A man comes out and turns a screw a quarter turn under the hood and instantly fixes the problem.  He says, “That will be $100.”  The car owner exclaims, “You spent no time!”  The mechanic comments,  “The time is worth a dollar. Knowing which screw to turn is worth $99.”  Expertise is the difference between selling price vs value.
